Canyon Trip - Day 4 - Aug. 28, 2007

We left Loughlin at 6:50 headed for Las Vegas. We detoured at Boulder City, NV to visit the Coffee Cup Café that we had learned about on the Food Network. Upon arriving, we immediately had a local take our picture with our bike outside the Coffee Cup. At this point, I have a feeling we are really looking like tourists! Then we went in, and the first person we saw was Big Al Stevens, the owner. We were so happy to be there and he was such a nice person! We talked about the show and took several pictures. Finally, we placed our order. Bruce ordered the Chile Verde omelet, and I ordered a breakfast sandwich with pancakes. Totally awesome food! Big Al is also a Hamster…you’ll have to get that story from Bruce as well. Anyway, we also met Al’s wife, Carrie. These people were very friendly and this was a wonderful experience.

From the Coffee Cup, we crossed Hoover Dam. This was a truly awesome sight as well. There is a new road being built literally from one mountaintop to another. Extremely tall!!!

Next stop was Las Vegas. It looked just like I thought it would. Very busy! We visited the Venetian, Caesar’s Palace, and several other casinos along the strip. By 2:30 we were ready to head back to Loughlin. The temperature was now at 107 degrees! Hot!
Once we made it back to Loughlin, we took a look at the other casinos there, and concluded that Harrah’s is the best one there, so, we had the buffet again! Then it was a relaxing evening.
